Microchipping

Animal Health Clinic in Picayune is a proud participant of the microchip program, which is a nation-wide identification program. A microchip is the size of a grain of rice and is inserted painlessly under the skin of your pet between the shoulder blades. The name of the animal, the owner’s name and contact information, as well as the veterinarian who placed the chip is located on the chip, and can be found with a simple scan of a reading wand.

Having a microchip placed on your animal can give you, as their owner, a sense of security and peace. If your pet is ever lost or separated from you, a rescue shelter or other veterinarian will scan for a chip immediately and contact you or Animal Health Clinic to plan a reunion!

The microchip that we use is MicroFinder by Datamars. Once the chip is in place, you will be required to register your pet with the national database. This registration service is free with the purchase of the microchip. Please remember to keep your contact information updated at all times.
